Privacy policy
The short version: we collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and the only thing you actively give us is an email address if you choose to subscribe.

Who we are
StudyBackedHealth (https://studybackedhealth.com) is an independent, evidence-based review site covering GLP-1 medications and related health products. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what choices you have. Questions: [email protected].
What we collect
- Newsletter email addresses. If you subscribe, we collect the email address you submit (and, on some forms, a tag indicating what you signed up for — for example, a specific clinical trial). That's processed by our newsletter provider (see "Third parties" below), not stored on our own servers.
- Basic server/log data. Like virtually every website, our host may record standard technical information (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) to serve pages and guard against abuse.
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4). We use Google Analytics to understand which articles are useful and how the site performs. It sets cookies and collects usage data — pages viewed, approximate location (from your IP, not stored by us), device and browser type, and a randomized identifier — as our analytics processor, governed by Google's privacy policy. We use it only for site analytics: we have not enabled Google's advertising features or "Signals," so it isn't used to build an ad profile of you. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.
We do not ask for or collect names, health information, dates of birth, payment details, or any sensitive personal data. Please don't send us health details or medical questions — we're researchers, not your clinicians.
What we don't do
- We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We don't run third-party advertising trackers or behavioral ad networks.
- We don't combine your data across sources to profile you.
Affiliate links and cookies
StudyBackedHealth is reader-supported. Some outbound links to providers are affiliate links,
marked rel="sponsored". If you click one, the destination company or its
affiliate network may set their own cookie to attribute a referral — that activity is
governed by their privacy policies, not ours, and it never affects our scores.
See our affiliate disclosure for the full picture of
how this works. Aside from those, the main cookies set when you visit are
Google Analytics' (see "Analytics" above); we don't run advertising or behavioral-tracking
cookies of our own.
Third parties we rely on
- Newsletter delivery — our email provider stores subscriber addresses and sends the digest. You can unsubscribe from any email, which removes you from the list.
- Hosting / content delivery — serves the site and may process standard server logs.
- Google Analytics — measures site usage as described above.
- Affiliate networks — only when you click an affiliate link, as described above.
Public data sources we display (such as ClinicalTrials.gov trial records) receive no information about you — we fetch that data when we build the site, not when you visit.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you (which, for most readers, is at most a newsletter email address). To make a request, email [email protected] and we'll honor it promptly.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted on our corrections page as well.
